Vent app

A vent app that real people read.

Updated . Written by the Evening Pages team.

Evening Pages is a free diary app where you can vent on a page and a few real people read it that evening. They see only your username and avatar. There is no AI chat and no direct messages, and it is for adults 18 and over.

How does venting work on Evening Pages?

You write a page the way you would in a diary: typed text in a handwriting font, on paper you pick, with stickers or a photo if you like. Then you choose, page by page, whether it stays private or is shared.

  1. Write tonight’s page. Say the messy thing plainly.
  2. Share it, or keep it just for you. The app checks shared pages before they go out.
  3. A few real readers get your page at 8 pm their local time. You see how many people read it.
  4. Readers can leave a stamp or a gentle comment. Every comment is checked before it shows.

You do not need followers for this. Shared pages are delivered to readers, so a page does not have to win a popularity contest to be seen.

What is the best app to vent anonymously?

If you want real people to read it, not an AI, Evening Pages is built for that. You write a page, share it as just a username and avatar, and a few real readers get it at 8 pm their time. It is free and for adults 18 and over.

Is there a vent app that is not an AI?

Yes. Evening Pages has no AI chat and no AI replies. People write the pages and people read them. Automated checks look at pages and comments for safety, and that is the only place AI is used.

Where can I vent online for free?

On Evening Pages, writing a page, sharing it, reading other pages, leaving stamps and comments, and following writers are all free. The free plan lets you share 1 page a day. Evening Plus is optional and adds extras, not the right to be read.

Can strangers message me if I vent?

No. Evening Pages has no direct messages. Readers can leave a stamp (a small kind reaction), write a short comment if you allow comments, or follow you. You can turn comments off for any page, hide a comment, report someone or block them.

What kind of venting is welcome?

Hard days are allowed in a diary. Anger, grief, being fed up, wanting to cry about a bad week: all fine. A few things are not, because they keep the place safe for everyone: threats, hate, harassing a person, sharing someone’s private details, and links, phone numbers or social handles. Our community rules list them in full.

Anonymity is yours to keep. Readers see a username and an avatar, nothing more, and the app blocks contact details in pages and comments. Still, do not put anything in a page that would identify you or someone else if you want to stay unknown.

How is it different from an AI vent app?

Some vent apps answer you with an AI. Evening Pages does not. Nobody writes back to you automatically. If you get a reply, a person wrote it. Delivery happens in the evening, at 8 pm, so there is nothing to watch for. You write it, set it down and go to bed.

How is it different from a forum or subreddit?

On a public forum, a post is open to everyone, and how far it travels often depends on votes. On Evening Pages, a page you share goes to a few readers on purpose, and there are no upvotes to chase. It is a smaller, quieter room. If you want a big crowd, a forum may suit you better.

What does it cost?

Venting is free: writing, sharing (1 page a day), reading, stamps, comments and follows. Evening Plus is optional and adds things like more photos, more papers and stickers, and 3 shared pages a day. See pricing.
