Evening Pages is a public space for private thoughts. This page says what we collect, why, who helps us run the app, and what you can do about it. We keep it short and in plain words.
The short version: you are anonymous to other readers, your email is only for signing in, we don't sell your data, and we don't show ads.
Who is responsible
Saiful Islam, a sole proprietor in Bangladesh, is the controller of your data. Contact: hello@eveningpages.app.
What we collect
Account
- Your email address, or your Apple or Google sign-in identifier, so you can sign in. Your email is never shown to other people.
- Your anonymous username and avatar. These are the only things other people see about you.
- A short bio, if you add one, and badges you earn.
- Your time zone and language, so pages arrive in the evening where you are and in a language you read.
- A coarse city, worked out from your IP address when you use the app. We never use GPS. It is only used so that your pages aren't delivered to readers in your own city.
- Your Evening Plus status (which plan you have and when it renews), from Apple, Google and RevenueCat.
- A push notification token for your phone, if you allow notifications, so we can send them.
What you write
- Your pages: the text, paper, font, stickers, mood, date and photos. Each page is private or shared, and you choose per page.
- Your comments, stamps (reactions), follows, blocks and reports.
- The language of a page, which we detect from its text, and how much of it was pasted, which the editor reports. We use these only for delivery and safety review.
Photos
- Photos you add to a page are stored on our servers. Location data and other hidden metadata in a photo is removed before it is stored.
What we don't collect
- No real name, no phone number, no contacts, no precise location, and no advertising identifiers.
- No advertising ID, no tracking across other apps or websites, and no tracking cookies.
- No page text, comments or usernames in our usage statistics (see "Usage statistics" below).
How we use it
- To run the app: show your pages, deliver shared pages to a few readers each evening, count streaks, send notifications you allow.
- To keep people safe: check pages, comments and photos against the Community rules, handle reports and block abuse.
- To run Evening Plus: know who has paid.
- To email you a sign-in code or an account message.
We don't sell your data. We don't use it for advertising. We don't use your pages to train AI models.
Usage statistics
The iOS app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how Evening Pages is used, so we can fix what is confusing. It records which screens are opened and which actions are taken (for example "a page was saved" or "the paywall was opened"), your device type, operating system and app version, your language, and an approximate country worked out from your IP address. It also uses a random ID that Firebase creates for each install. That ID is not your account and not the advertising ID of your phone.
We do not send your pages, comments, username, email or any account ID to it. We do not use the advertising ID, we do not ask to track you across other apps, we do not use the data for ads and we do not sell it. This website has no analytics.
We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (also Google) to deliver notifications you allow. For that it holds a push token for your phone.
What is public
- A page you share can be seen by other members, with your username and avatar. Some shared pages also have a public web link (eveningpages.app/p/...) that anyone can open, and search engines can index it. If you don't want that, keep the page private or unshare it.
- Your public profile shows your username, avatar, bio, badges, page count and your shared pages.
- Private pages are only visible to you.
The AI features
- Safety checks. Text and photos on pages you share are sent to OpenAI's moderation service to check them against the Community rules. We don't use this to train AI.
- "Talk it over with AI". This optional Evening Plus feature builds a prompt on your phone from your own writing stats. It is only shared when you choose to copy it or open an AI app. We don't send it anywhere. After you hand it to another app such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, that app's own privacy policy applies. Your username, email and ID are never put in the prompt.

How long we keep it
- We keep your data while your account is open.
- If you delete your account (Settings, Delete account), we delete your profile and all of your pages, photos, comments and follows from our systems. Backups kept by our database provider may hold copies for a short time until they expire.
- Reports and moderation records about rule-breaking may be kept longer where we need them to keep people safe.
Your choices
- Export all your pages from Settings.
- Delete your account and everything on it from Settings.
- Change your username, avatar and bio in Settings.
- Choose per page whether it is private or shared. You can unshare a page later.
- Turn off notifications in Settings or in your phone settings.
- To ask us about your data, or to fix or delete something you can't do in the app, write to hello@eveningpages.app.
Age
Evening Pages is for people 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you think a child has an account, tell us and we will remove it.
This website
This website uses no tracking cookies and no analytics. It remembers your light or dark choice in your browser's local storage and nothing else. Fonts are served from our own site. When you open a shared page, our servers fetch the page to show it to you.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
